  • We aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what information is shared publicly, kept private or permanently deleted.
  • We aim for full transparency on how we gather, use, and share your personal information.

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect about you when you use our websites, such as www.f1laps.com, our mobile apps, and our desktop apps, such as the F1Laps Telemetry Windows and Mac apps. Throughout this Privacy Policy we’ll refer to our websites, mobile applications, and other products and services collectively as “Services.”

What information we collect

  • Basic information: We ask for basic information from you in order to set up your account. For example, we require individuals who sign up for a f1laps.com account to provide an email address and password, along with a username — and that’s it.
  • Log information: Like most online service providers, we collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, including the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information. We collect log information when you use our Services.

What we use this information for

We use this information to provide our Services (for example, to set up and maintain your account), to ensure quality (for example, by providing automatic upgrades and new versions of our Services) and to communicate with you.

How we minimize the information we collect

  • Web analytics: We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand how our Services are used.
  • Payment processing: We use Stripe to process payments and handle payment card details.
  • Service monitoring: We use Sentry and New Relic for error and performance monitoring.

Cookies may be used for sign-in, Service settings and analytics. Where advertising is shown, our advertising partners may also use cookies or similar technologies as described in their privacy policies.

Advertising

All or partial advertising on this Website or App is managed by Playwire LLC. If Playwire publisher advertising services are used, Playwire LLC may collect and use certain aggregated and anonymized data for advertising purposes. Connecting F1Laps to an AI assistant

Connecting an AI assistant is optional. When you connect F1Laps to a compatible assistant, you sign in and approve access through our OAuth consent screen. The connection is read-only: it can read the racing data your account is allowed to access, but it cannot edit or delete your laps, sessions or setups.

Depending on your request and account access, shared data may include your plan and available features, current game, lap and session identifiers and links, track details, lap and sector times, race results, tyre strategy, saved setups, assists, fuel, ERS, tyre wear and damage. Detailed driving traces may include speed, braking, throttle and recorded racing-line coordinates. Public community setups and eligible public leaderboard comparisons may also be returned.

We share this data with the AI service you choose to provide the analysis or lookup you request. The provider's privacy policy, terms and your account settings govern its handling of the data and your conversations. For example, see the policies for OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude). F1Laps does not request your full chat history through the MCP connection.

We keep a limited tool-use record for service operation and usage measurement: the time, linked F1Laps account, a client-family label, tool name, outcome and whether detailed telemetry was requested. This record does not contain prompts, tool arguments or results, passwords, access tokens, IP addresses, lap or session identifiers, or racing details. We schedule daily removal of these records once they are older than 365 days. Deleting the linked F1Laps account also deletes its tool-use records.

Access tokens expire after one hour. Refresh tokens can maintain an approved connection. Token expiry ends access but does not itself delete stored authorization records; those records may remain linked to your account until account deletion or removal on request. Connecting or disconnecting an assistant does not delete the racing data you store in F1Laps.

You can disconnect through your AI service's connection controls. An already issued access token may remain valid until it expires or is revoked. To ask us to revoke authorizations or delete or modify your F1Laps data, email contact@f1laps.com. You can also use the F1Laps account-deletion controls after signing in. Your AI provider's copy of shared data is subject to its own deletion and retention rules.

Your rights

Regardless of the country you’re located in, you can contact us anytime at contact@f1laps.com to have any of your data being deleted or modified. This includes your rights under the GDPR.
